Camp Nate dates: August 2-8 (Depart Dallas on the 2nd, arrive Colorado on the 3rd)
Camp Nate is a camp that is designed to provide a week of healing and bonding for families who have lost a child to cancer.
He loved the camp and all his friends he made while there.
Nate Oxford, the camp’s namesake was a 6 year old boy who fought brain cancer for 4 years. Before his death in early 2013, he and his family attended Camp Mati , a family cancer camp, for 2 years at Trail West. It was an amazing week away from the hospital, doctors, and the reality of being a child with cancer. The camp at Trail West was unlike anything he and his family had ever experienced. His family has partnered with Jean Marie Alpert, the founder of the family cancer camp, in an effort to give families who have suffered this tragic loss a week to heal and meet others who understand the journey they have endured. Many families are faced with years of medical bills even after their child has passed. Our hope is this that your family can experience a week filled with remembrance and the joy of healing. Our goal is for the families who often feel alone meet and build a support network with others who have watched a child fight cancer and then pass from this disease.
